Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Dahlgren, VA to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department (B), Electronic Warfare and Spectrum Operations (EWSO) Division (B30). B30 conducts research, development, test and evaluation in emerging electromagnetic fields to enhance the U.S Navy's ability to assess and maneuver in the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS), for purposes such as communication, navigation, advanced threat characterization and identification, cognitive decision support and collaborative weapon sensor engagements to enhance the warfighters ability to asses and engage emerging threats.

The Software Engineer will perform Software Engineering evolutions in support of Navy Warfare Systems Acquisition and Prototype Program evolutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop code (i.e C++, Unix/Linux environment) for detect (ES) and engage (EA), Nulka or SoftKill Coordination Subsystem (SKCS) applications for real-time tactical applications.
• Apply model development in Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Modeling Language (UML) within a UML/SysML modeling Tool.
• Work within the Data-Centric Publish-Subscribe paradigm, using Object Management Group's (OMG) Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard.
• Some efforts develop software within an Agile/Sprint environment.
  Execute software planning, designing, coding, testing, integrating, supporting, and delivering algorithms, software (source code and executables), and computer programs.
• Communicate designs, implementations, test results, and product functionality to program sponsors and senior technical staff.

IND-SIA

• Must be a U.S citizen.
• Must possess a current Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor or higher degree from an accredited university in engineering, computer/software engineering or computer science.
• Ten (10) years of experience in software design, development and engineering applied to program and system level development.
• Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in developing real-time system and subsystem level software products, databases (Oracle, MSAccess, etc), knowledge or experience with operating systems (LINUX and MS Windows) and interfaces.
• Three (3) years of experience or equivalent with Navy or other Armed Services programs and/or systems.
