Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

As the technical lead for Verizon’s Data Catalog integration solutions, your goal is to help transform the way Verizon manages data. You will conduct technology research, understand internal stakeholder needs, and define product requirements for integrating and consolidating Verizon’s inventory of data. Finally, you will deliver successful new solutions for metadata management and integrate with existing solutions for data governance.
You will deliver global, integrated solutions that provide the foundation for a modern data governance platform for Verizon. The Verizon Data Catalog will enable more complete compliance with company policies as well as local, state, federal, and international laws. AI-Assisted classification will be used to scale to millions of data columns. In addition, the data catalog will enable secure, compliant, and trust-worthy analytics by data scientists and general analytical practitioners.

  • Deliver a clear strategic vision and technical road map for data products and data quality solutions to be used across Verizon.
  • Have multiple horizons as a Solution leader to succeed now, but also have the right approach to succeed tomorrow and in the future.
  • Perform an objective technical analysis of a potential integration solution for metadata and multiple data catalogs
  • Articulate what you learned from research to inform a technical decision on knowledge graphs and other advanced metadata management techniques
  • Map needs with target stakeholders inside AI&D and throughout Verizon to analyze solutions and actively pursue implementation.
  • Lead efforts for metadata orchestration at Verizon. Design the data catalog integration and metadata management solution to solve global data governance problems.
  • Illustrate data governance problems in a "story" that puts the problem in context. User stories are one component of requirements.
  • Manage proactive communications with relevant stakeholders from strategy through execution with VPs and working teams.
  • Identify competitive and alternative solutions in the market, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and develop a strategy for meeting Verizon’s goals for Data Governance.
  • Solve large scale technical and business problems related to data governance. Curate metadata for the telecommunications domain using the latest technologies (AI/ML, microservices, container-based big data applications)
  • Drive adoption of new technologies throughout Verizon for solving complex data governance problems for large scale enterprises.
