What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP) is the directional private cloud that supports mission-critical network functions and services like 4G/5G wireless applications, Webscale and Visible. We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative individual who will contribute to the growth and evolution of VCP.

  • Designing, developing and implementing tools for cloud management and tenant onboarding.
  • Implementing enhancements and bug-fixes to existing applications and services.
  • Leading small to medium scale projects with minimal direction.
  • Troubleshooting application issues, resolving applications issues and escalating issues as required.
  • Testing solutions at scale for resiliency and maintainability.
  • Gathering requirements from stakeholders and developing strategies for implementation.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g. JavaScript, Python, Shell, other).
  • Ability to develop and evaluate microservices and service-oriented architectures.
  • Three or more years of software development experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Three or more years of experience working for a DevOps team.
  • Experienced with Linux in a virtualized environment.
  • Experience with the git version control system, including gitflow.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration, continuous deployment (Jenkins, Ansible and git (Bitbucket/Gitlab)).
  • The ability to test solutions at scale for resiliency and maintainability.
  • One or more years of microservices development experience.
  • Experience working on an enterprise scale OpenStack deployments.
  • Experience with deployment of OpenStack VIMs, the configuration of OSP controllers, understanding of Linux kernels.
  • Experience working with container related technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc…)
  • Experience in the following technologies: NodeJS, GoLang, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Angular 2+, TypeScript, HTML, SCSS, RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of the Agile development life cycle.
  • Experience with automated build scripting across multiple environments.
  • Debug software implementation issues, including data structures and algorithms and an understanding of how different implementation choices will affect the performance of applications.
  • Expereince to high-availability hardware and software models.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
