Mechanical Engineering Intern

The Advanced Materials Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to work in our Crane, IN office. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a program to advance additive manufacturing processes. We are seeking someone with a strong academic background in engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities

Conduct research and analysis on mechanical engineering projects and assist in the development of concepts and solutions.

Collaborate with experienced professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of additive manufacturing systems and equipment.

Contribute to the development of project plans and timelines.

Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation.

Learn and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Attend meetings and provide updates on project progress.

Continuously seek opportunities to learn and improve skills in mechanical engineering.

Maintain communication with team members and supervisors to ensure project goals are met.

Demonstrate strong problem problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Take initiative and show a willingness to learn and take in new challenges.

Adhere to project deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold its values and standards.

Basic Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering program or related discipline.

Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience performing data analysis and CAD modelling.
