Leidos has an immediate need for a Linux based Storage Systems Administrator at Wright Patterson AFB near Dayton, OH.

To be eligible you must have a TS/SCI Clearance and CompTIA Security+ certification, with a Computing Environment (CE) certification.

The Storage Systems Administrator will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system security, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Job Description: Candidate must have hands-on experience and working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat) Operating System, a mixed and growing Storage environment consisting of Storage devices (disk and tape), as well as Fiber Channel switches. This position will work with the existing system administration team to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support customers with access to the storage environments. This position will assist with implementing new storage and servers and provide input for developing local operating procedures and policies as needed or requested. This position will need to be adept at monitoring the ongoing operation of the storage systems and providing utilization reports to identify problems and corrective actions as needed. Responsible for design, installation, configuration, security and maintenance of highly available enterprise data storage and operating systems. Additional duties, but not limited to include:

• Monitor performance, errors, and warnings on FC network and attached storage systems

• Maintain storage and FC network policies and standards

• Troubleshoot performance problems and propose short term fixes and long-term solutions

Qualified candidate should also have the vision and demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions that leverage resources and meet customer needs effectively. Excellent customer interaction skills including written and verbal communication will be necessary to successfully address the assignments for this position. Candidate must be team oriented and capable of multi-tasking in a dynamic, demanding environment and must be a self-starter, able to plan, schedule and coordinate assignments with other team members.

Basic Qualifications Two or more years work experience in managing Linux (Red Hat) Operating Systems, Fiber Channel Network administration, block storage administration, and Storage Management software, preferably an HSM (Hierarchical Storage Manager) administration.

Candidate must have a CompTIA Security+ certification, and a Computing Environment (CE) certification.

Desired skills: Versity Storage Manager SAM-QFS (Storage Archive Manager/Quick File System), Linux (Red Hat) Operating System, General Purpose File System (GPFS), Storage, Kerberos, Secure Shell, Scripting Languages, C/C++, Ansible, Perl, Open-Source Technologies. Working knowledge of Parallel File Systems, DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Readiness Review (SRR) scripts, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM). Experience with CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, and FCoE also desired.

Typical Minimums Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related master’s degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
