Job Description:

THIS IS NOT A LONG-TERM TELEWORK POSITION; remote work is temporarily authorized due to COVID. Work will be performed at a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) office in Washington, DC when deemed appropriate by our customer.

Leidos has an opening for a Systems Administrator to support the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) End User Services (EUS) program. Leidos provides a stable and reliable End User environment to meet HUD’s strategic business goals and objectives. These End User support services requirements include LAN, Desktop and IMAC, Unified Communications, Webcast, Integration and Test, System Acceptance, Printing and Distribution, and SharePoint Collaboration services, as well as the ancillary Program Management, Enterprise Engineering, Performance Modeling, Configuration Management, Technical Assessments, Facility Management, and Security services that ensure efficient and effective End User solutions, standard IT processes, and compliance to IT regulations and guidance.

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for overall systems administration support for a broad range of programs including planning, designing, and evaluating various components of the network. Duties may include providing specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments. Support level duties may include monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, operate, and maintain the HD VTC, Webcast, SSL VPN, Contractor Tunnels (VPN) and Forescout (port security) infrastructure utilizing the standard suite of automated network tools.

  • Setup and monitor HD VTCs and Webcasts to address issues that occur.

  • Provide updates for the hardware, software and firmware required to proactively address end of life or obsolescence issues that would affect HUD LAN availability, performance and compliance, as well as ensure that all established HITS LAN hardware and associated services are supported, maintained, and operational.

  • Respond to ServiceDesk tickets and phone calls to provide problem management support including isolating problems to specific hardware, software, and bandwidth components, e.g., video CODECS, and CMS.

  • Provide weekly metrics for completed HD VTCs and webcasts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree and 3 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 1 year experience.

  • Experience working as a Tier 2 system administrator: familiar with using exchange/vault tools.

  • Experience with Cisco switch, router, firewall, and video teleconference architecture

  • Experience with virtual private network (VPN) client and IPSEC tunnels

  • Experience with webcast architecture

  • Experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment.

  • Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas.

  • Ability to triage and properly classify incidents and prioritize work efforts accordingly

  • Experience with log reviews, incident analysis, and identification of issue trends

  • ITIL IV Foundation certification, Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Must be able to pass a HUD Public Trust background investigation. Due to contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residence status is required.
