Job Description:

Maintains and supports the integrity of system environment and various computer systems for a Department of Defense international program. Administers, installs and troubleshoots a variety of operating systems. Performs systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery and file maintenance. Schedules, installs, and tests system software upgrades. Configures software and resolves technical problems. Provides basic user functionality training of various installed applications. Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements.

Primary Responsibilities


System administrator responsible for administration of a 50+ client – server Closed User Group (CUG) network with a set of core services to include Microsoft Sharepoint, Active Directory, Lync Server, and Microsoft Exchange (E-mail). Manage the migration of Office Communicator, Sharepoint, and Exchange to a virtual environment with core operating system and server application upgrades. Post migration, administer Microsoft Server stack running on a Red Hat Linux hypervisor trusted platform utilizing VMware and VSphere Client as the primary administrator interface. Specific responsibilities include responding to and troubleshooting specific user requests, troubleshooting Lync server Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) capabilities, maintenance of trusted certificate stores, patching through a Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), account management, maintain baseline client image, and assist with baseline enclave installations at multiple locations. Individual will be an embedded asset within the government customer Program Office. Ten percent annual travel anticipated.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years server administration experience or 12+ years of server administration in lieu of degree. Must have a Secret level clearance. Able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment. Ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision and translate technical solutions\problems to non-technical personnel.
Required Professional certifications: Security+ (CompTIA)
