The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Jr. Systems Engineer to support Post Production Software Support (PPSS) and Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) engineering and technical services to the CECOM IEW&S Directorate Sensors and Mission Division (SMED) based in Sierra Vista, AZ.
This position will provide technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and maintenance support for BAT-A systems deployed to multiple locations globally. A successful candidate will provide support to users of BAT-A systems affected by changes to system software, unique hardware configurations, network challenges, and accreditation boundaries for forward deployed sites. In addition, this position will support the Operation Data Center performing ingestion and coordination of Biometrics Enabled Watch List among US agencies, the DoD, and forward deployed locations.
Primary Responsibilities
Evaluating hardware and software issues and failures of the BAT-A system
Support system testing and validation; software patching and implementation, systems checks, and repairs
Ensure daily operations of servers and network communications in the Data Center
Test and maintain the BAT software images for the SEEK, server/laptop, and web
Support the coordination of the Biometrics Enabled Watch List
Implementation of systems upgrades to include planning, scheduling, testing, managing, and coordinating network availability
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical Discipline.
Requires a minimum of four years of demonstrated applicable experience.
US Citizen, possessing a Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI eligibility
Possessing or will obtain essential certifications to enable a DoD 8570, IAT Level II appointment (upon hire)
Experience performing analysis and decomposition of high-level user requirements into functional system, software and hardware requirements
Experience with Virtual Machines (VMWare, etc.), Visual Basic, Visual Studio, C#, C++, Python, plug-in architectures
Experience in MicroFocus Caliber, MicroFocus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) (formerly known as HP QuickTest Professional (QTP)), Jira, Confluence, Perforce Helix ALM
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree is desirable.
Demonstrated experience working within matrixed teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge and experience in the complete life cycle of the software in military systems
Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
