Job Description:

Leidos is hiring a Lead Systems Engineer for the AFNCR ITS NMCC at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA. TS/SCI is required; all work is onsite. Must have a strong technical network background to successfully manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects supporting the operations and maintenance, new engineering change task orders, technical refresh, new system improvement and modernization activities, and other major changes that occur.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assures that all system operations are operational, and all engineering solutions are implemented successfully, from design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing systems; Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents; Must have demonstrated experience identifying, developing, and implementing engineering change solutions and new technology and solutions:

    • Demonstrated experience in all phases of a project lifecycle.

    • Demonstrated ability to work in a customer environment collaboratively through constraints to meet mission milestones.

    • Excellent written and oral communications skills and management to include presentation and experience discussing technology at large government agency CIO/CTO executive level

  • Responsible for overall system engineering support for a broad range of programs including planning, designing, and evaluating various components. Duties may include providing specifications for system architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments. Support level duties may include monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of system equipment

  • Lead a team of subcontractor subject matter experts (SME) (nine total) involved with operation and administration of various standalone systems within the NMCC.

  • Ensure SMEs are coordinating efforts to maximize efficiencies and reduce timelines.

  • Interface daily with all NMCC Leidos work centers to ensure up to date and accurate reports are provided to meet CDRL reporting requirements.

  • Ensures metrics are in compliance for each work center.

  • Conduct daily (M-F) in person brief with 844 CS/SCON.

  • Represent work center at scheduled contractor and gov’t meetings.

Basic Qualifications

  • Possess a current TS/SCI clearance

  • Current IA Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, etc.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Cisco and Juniper network devices (including but not limited to CTP, router, and switches)

  • Broad familiarity with RMF requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • Generally has 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

  • Familiarity with multimedia (VTC, video walls, Crestron), telecommunication transport, secure and non-secure voice communications.

  • Possesses expert domain knowledge in a technical field bolstered with significant experience and advanced education and training.

  • Experience within his/her field includes extensive accomplishments, recognition by peers, training, and/or certifications directly related to the discipline.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00
