Leidos is looking to fill a Systems Engineer – Storage Engineer within the Analysis Solutions Division (ASD) to support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). This position Maintain the digital storage infrastructure that houses all NMEC data and applications, and reduce storage costs through aggressive data management, including deduplication, compression, and archiving. This individual will follow all data retention policies, ensure index and media integrity, and document all storage provisioning configurations. The Customer utilizes an Agile Framework to plan and successfully complete all initiatives. The work location is in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reduce storage costs through aggressive data management, including deduplication, compression, and archiving.
  • Follow all data retention policies, ensure index and media integrity, and document all storage provisioning configurations.
  • Monitor system performance, such as IOPS, read/write errors, and stale storage, to initiate preventative maintenance and reclaim space.
  • Monitor system connectivity to ensure that devices can attach to target
  • Develop and produce documentation, SOPs, reports, and presentation slide decks
  • Communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences (both contractor and federal government employees)
  • Establish and maintain strong relationship with government customer

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience supervising others
  • Experience with managing backup, storage, and disaster recovery infrastructure design, implementation, and improvements
  • napmirror experience for snapshot, snapclone and replication
  • Data Migration experience with NAS and SAN architectures
  • Experience with all-flash arrays, storage virtualization (hardware and software based), deduplication and encryption technologies
  • Experience with Storage Resource Management (SRM) tools
  • Experience supporting multi-data center / multi-petabyte primary and recovery storage environments; and with managing data protection technologies such as replication and continuous data protection (CDP)
  • Experience with managing backup, storage, and disaster recovery infrastructure design, implementation, and improvements
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Experience establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives
  • Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results
  • Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP along with an appropriate computing environment (CE) certification)

Clearance

  • TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required
  • US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts we support.


Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certification or experience with cloud computing web services providing distributed computing processing capacity and software tools via AWS server farms.
  • Relevant NMEC focused experience or agency knowledge
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with troubleshooting within a security environment

Pay Range:Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00
