IT Systems Engineer - Remote

The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for facilitating key activities around infrastructure management and quality control for IT environments at WellMed. You will work closely with Development and Infrastructure teams as well as the Environment Coordinator and Release Manager to ensure effective administration of environment configurations on a project-by-project basis. You will provision new environments as necessary, and plan and implement infrastructure improvements to ensure optimal environment health.
The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for establishing standards and processes around how environments are managed and configured. You will implement key environment measures and quality standards to monitor and ensure environment health. You will be responsible for designing and implementing key technical processes to maintain alignment between pre-production environments and production environments. You will be tasked with ensuring that automation best practices are incorporated to optimize configuration management activities and streamline releases.
This position is a highly visible role that requires the ability to understand complex interactions between systems, applications, databases and services hosted and evaluate the impact of changes or additions to each. It will require solid coordination and communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders and with the Infrastructure and broader Operations teams to ensure that releases are successful.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Create and execute an overall environment strategy
- Establish standards for all environments and establish process controls to ensure environments are synchronized
- Manage software and hardware configuration changes to environments and base configurations for technical assets
- Develop and maintain quality control measures for all environments
- Interface with Infrastructure and Operations groups as well the Environment Coordinator to ensure effective management of environment configurations
- Document technical dependencies and align with standard environment configurations
- Identify infrastructure dependencies for end-to-end testing within major projects
- Develop, maintain and mature processes and procedures for configuration management
- Create, manage, and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLA) for environments
- Leverage DevOps knowledge to automate key activities within environment provisioning and maintenance processes
- Perform all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (8 years of comparable work experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
- 4+ years of Release/Deployment/Configuration Management experience
- 4+ years of experience managing infrastructure and a diverse set of software environments
- 2+ years of experience with environment, deployment, and test automation tools
- Expert knowledge of software and system development lifecycles3
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
- Proven ability to facilitate meetings and garner consensus among groups
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical information in concise terms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ServiceNow (development / CMDB)
- Windows platform experience
- Experience with the DevOps methodology in fast-paced technology landscapes
- Experience with the following environments/systems: Medical Claims, Utilization, Disease, Management Systems, and EMR Platforms.
- Solid understanding of project management principles
