More About the Role:
Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support efforts for Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) supporting the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.
Systems Engineer will act as the Operations Seam Coordinator for Network Operation Services to support the multi-vendor/multi-contract (MVMC) service environment to manage, coordinate, and collaborate across Service Providers, providing Services or Operations to the NMCI network to ensure efficient and effective services. The focus of this position is to ensure that the processes, products, and operations (within the NOC and SOC operations, service continuity and security management, account and directory services and Cross Domain data access and transfers between different security domains) support the cross-cutting collaboration amongst various Leidos partners within service environments through various partners and government entities.
What You'll Get to Do:
•Develop technical solutions to support the MVMC seams in areas such as NOC and SOC operations, service continuity and security management, account and directory services and Cross Domain data access and transfers between different security domains.
•Support aspects of system engineering for SMIT, to include technical planning, design, development, integration, assessment, and requirements analysis, as well as future capability needs (near and long-term) to drive the design and maintain an IT Enterprise.
•Comply with ITSM processes and procedures.
•Comply with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) governance.
•Validate requirements with stakeholders.
•Coordinate and collaborate with ITSM SMIT team members to determine the root causes of seam issues to ensure stable operations and eliminate future occurrences.
•Contribute to seamless service delivery, an ever-improved user experience, and reduced risk of disruption to mission support or important technology initiatives.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
-Requires B.S. Degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
•U.S. Citizen and DOD Secret Clearance.
•Specialized experience in a single discipline such as assembly/integration, cross-discipline functions, data engineering, industry expertise, knowledge engineering or legacy evolution.
•Experience in documenting processes and procedures and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Four (4) plus years of experience in WAN/LAN/WLAN and COMSEC services support.
•DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II.
•Master’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field.
•Experience across a broad-range of programs with increasing responsibility.
•Experience with Navy/Marine Corps, Defense Information System Agency (DISA) and Joint interoperability of network design, integration and implementation
•Certified in ITIL V4.
•Knowledge and understanding of ITIL process infrastructure improvements in Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition and Service Operations.
•Experience conducting deep dives and assessing Root Cause Analysis resulting in improved stability and operational performance.
