Leidos is seeking a System Engineer to provide Agile DevOps support to mission critical network systems. As a System Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, document, test and debug software capabilities to support a complex program. Based in DevOps framework, you will determine computer user needs: analyze systems capabilities, resolve problems on program, determine output requirements, input data acquisition, and programming techniques and controls. The System Engineer develops solutions, prepares operating instructions, and ensuring compliance will all software standards.
The projected start date for this position is February 2022.

Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
• Provide full SDLC requirements and systems engineering processes
• Communicate with the users or stakeholder to determine business, system and performance requirements
• Should have ability to lead team and project and deliver on timely manner.
• Modernizing the air traffic control safety applications by improving the exchange of electronic flight data and implementing integrated solution
• Developing A-Level System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) requirements, B-Level Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Interface Control Specifications, Systems Engineering Modeling and Design, and Computer Human Interface, wireframe or mock-up development for the OARS system
• Interfacing with the FAA customer to address/answer questions relating to the developed requirements, use cases describing human interactions and design decisions
• Providing support needed for software development, integration and test, and other functional areas
• Working in an Agile Scrum environment
• Participate in Backlog grooms and at time lead a Feature: elaborating it to smaller user stories and present it to team during backlog groom.
• Articulating user needs and requirements from high level business features
• Support newer members of the team and support them to learn FAA domain and tools/technologies used on the Program
• Perform as the Scrum Master as need arises
• Complete FAA compliance training needs as required by Customer
• Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Qualifications:
• Requires Bachelor of Science degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Systems Engineering experience, including proven experience working in complex projects gathering user requirements and converting them into system requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience:
- Working directly with customers to discuss their requirements and objectives
- Interfacing with other functional areas (e.g. Software, Test)
• Work with FAA to obtain approvals for SDLC gate reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR) and Software Design Review (SDR)
• Agile software development methodology, processes, sprint lifecycle, JIRA, Agile techniques is a must
• Create the Features and User Stories with detailed Acceptance Criteria assigned in the Sprint is a must
• Familiarity with AWS and Cloud technologies is must
• Hands on experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.
• Experience with 508 compliance
• More than a willingness to learn and a desire to be a go to person for upcoming technologies
• Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
• Create detailed system performance requirements
• Ability and willing to perform or support system and integration testing activities
• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
• Technical leadership experience with strong organization and time management
• Prior experience in a technical leadership role that requires significant coordination across multiple functional areas
• Strong work ethic, curiosity, competitive spirit.
• FAA format testing and CDRLs delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with SysML and System Engineering modeling and design approach
• Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite
• Experience supporting Requirements Reviews with customer
• Familiarity with the National Air Space and FAA Safety systems or applications

Pay Range:
