The Customer provides Identity Support in the areas of data extraction, transformation and load (ETL), data mapping, data extraction, analytical support, operational support, database support, application development and associated maintenance of production systems. Team members work in a multitasking, quick-paced, dynamic, process-improvement environment that requires experience with the principles of biometric technology, large-scale (Terabytes) database and application development, large-scale file manipulation, data modeling, data mapping, data testing, data quality, and documentation preparation. The customer directly supports data scientists and analysts by designing and engineering systems to meet exponential increases in digital data. Leidos is seeking a Technical System Engineer that will be responsible for assisting the Customer’s management team with the following activities:

  • Actively participate in organizational business process re-engineering efforts with the focus on delivering capabilities to mission in a fast and efficient manner.
  • Balance the customer’s infrastructure and cloud technology when disagreements occur between technical teams.
  • Schedule, operate, facilitate and record minutes from technical boards.
  • Develop, maintain and organize quad charts detailing project status for all customer projects.
  • Develop, maintain and organize a customer-level project schedule detailing major milestones and dependencies.
  • Assist in organizing and executing teambuilding activities.
  • Submit requests for, approved and maintain the queue for the Customer’s flagship application role approval queue in the Customer’s enterprise role approval system and other admin duties as necessary to support the Sponsor mission.
  • Provide programmatic support to the Infrastructure team that operates, maintains and extends a High Performance computing environment in a Hybrid Cloud architecture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 12 years of relevant experience. Work experience can be used in lieu of degree/combined with education
  • Demonstrated experience working with engineers to ensure that the right plan, design and product is engineered and implemented
  • Demonstrated experience as a software or systems project or team leader in an IT Enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services, to include in-depth knowledge of technical service offerings and how they can be used to meet performance, cost and schedule to achieve project success Demonstrated experience developing costing projections utilizing Amazon Web Services pricing models and cloud design principles
  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining an engineering and/or technical project budget
  • Demonstrated experience working with other engineers to analyze IT systems to improve performance while lowering overall costs
  • Demonstrated experience applying business and technical skills to inform decisions for cost reductions, performance improvements and mission benefit
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Amazon Web Services pricing models, cost explorer and other tools to report and project the total cost of a project
  • Ability to translate technical information into clear, readable documents and presentations to be used by technical and non-technical personnel
