Job Description:

As a Technical Trainer for our Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) division in support our customers and extensive product portfolio. Our operation has more than 24,000 products deployed across 120 countries. This Technical Trainer position is responsible for creating and providing effective delivery of training to end users, and technicians both internal and external.

The position requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse work staff and customer base. Demonstrates initiative and dedication through positive use of downtime and an overall willingness and eagerness to consistently exceed customer and company requirements this individual must be team oriented and flexible, and actively seek to share information and assist his peers. Possesses solid communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to read and follow schematics to provide effective training in isolating fault to root cause component/assembly. Provide Training both operator and technical training for Trace, Checkpoint Smartlane, Whole Body Imager, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and conducts training programs to prepare employees and customers to support products for installation, safety, maintenance, and services: Courses will be Instructor led and virtual classes.

  • Demonstrates the ability to learn new ideas and create additional learning opportunities. Collaborates on the development of training content for the standard courses, Distance Learning System and e-learning tools.

  • Lectures class on safety, installation, calibration, maintenance, and service of our products, following the course description, outline, handouts, and misc.

  • Demonstrates mastery of procedures being taught, such as service and troubleshooting. Observes trainees in lab sessions and administers oral, written, and practical exams.

  • Completes summary reports to evaluate trainees' performance.

  • Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions within and outside of the United States to obtain information useful to training facility and integrates information into training program.

  • Some travel required to conduct technical training classes at Leidos facilities or customer sites.

  • Conducts complex individual and group technical training courses and activities for employees and customers.

  • Monitors the effectiveness of course materials, reviews feedback, and modifies/revises course materials as instructed.

  • Completes the development of new course materials.

  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge on the application, installation, and operation of all assigned products, tools, and services.

  • May identify, evaluate, and obtain training programs and materials from external vendors

Required skills to have for the success of this role:

  • Excellent Customer Service and Positive attitude.

  • Possesses solid communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Advanced degree or Certification in related discipline, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.

  • Experience of providing training to enable higher levels of maintenance/repair i.e. Level 2,3,4 on complex product that require Electro-Mechanical experience.

  • 5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Conducts complex individual and group technical training course

  • Deep knowledge to handle and teach safety, operation and troubleshooting solutions for aviation security products or products/systems that are similar.

  • Specialized knowledge for content development, define deliver method and teach classes for aviation security products for customers/end users or internal technicians/engineers

  • Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in X-ray products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Communications or Certification in related field (industrial, electrical, electronic, mechanical) with 4+ years of experience. Equivalence achieved through comparative work and life experience is acceptable (>10 years work experience in a related electrical or mechanical field service role).

  • Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Experience of providing training to enable higher levels of maintenance/repair i.e. Level 2,3,4 on complex product that require Electro-Mechanical experience.

  • Individuals shall possess excellent communications skills and have a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork. Must be willing & able to travel at short notice.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $89,000.00 - $120,150.00
