The Business Segment Liaison (BSL) holds a key position in assisting with the employee onboarding process and providing general ongoing support to employees. BSLs are granted and have access to various tools to complete a variety of business requests. The successful partnership between Remote Client Operations’ Remote Solutions model and a BSL is dependent on the BSL having the appropriate level of knowledge and understanding of processes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Asset Management

  • Procure hardware and software for the individuals s/he supports
  • Software license management
  • Hardware management
  • Ensure that all software compliance requirements are being met and kept up-to-date

Asset Placement

  • Complete the basic setup of the machine in the appropriate cubicle/office

Asset Recovery/Disposal

  • Adhere to the IT Asset Management policy and Asset Disposal processes established by UnitedHealth Group IT

Telecom-Related Requests

  • Modifying software on existing desktops, laptops and voice services for users of physical phones and also for personal communicator voice users

Desk Move Process – Large part of this role

  • Inform team and management of appropriate rules regarding moves and lead times required for the move process
  • Assist in all floor moves- transport all IT equipment required to new desk and ensure employee is connected correctly
  • Update all floor plans and liaise with the Capacity Planning individual to ensure seat counts are correct and up to date and all seats are assigned the correct desk number


Communicate with Employees (migration-related)

  • Distribute communications to employees as requested that are directly related to computer migration activities

SharePoint:

  • Control, monitor and govern all SharePoint sites
  • Build and monitor all new SharePoint sub sites
  • Assist individuals with all SharePoint issues and queries

Leadership Support:

  • Provide first line trouble shooting and support to both local and visiting leaders
  • Provide support to teams doing Town Halls onsite and occasionally off-site

Other Duties to include:

  • Printers: Monitoring printer toner levels Replenishing paper. Training employees on use of Printer and clearing paper jams. Reporting printer issues that need referring to HP
  • Vendors: Working with External Cabling vendor on UHG projects concerning additional cabling installations/capacity reviews
  • Management and maintenance of all AV equipment - for set ups for all training/presentations and technical support and troubleshooting for all AV equipment for all meetings and town halls
  • Work at home and Desk share implementation, setup and governance
  • Support for the Dublin based BSL team- may include travel

Required qualifications:

  • A Third Level Certification or Diploma in an IT related discipline
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Customer Service/Support role
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Visio
  • A minimum of 2 years IT experience to include trouble shooting of basic IT equipment/AV equipment and related peripherals
  • Strong relationship management skills – this is a high profile role and the successful candidate must be able to interact professionally with colleagues at every level of the organization
  • A valid driving license as role will entail driving the company van to other sites

Assets:

  • Demonstrated Health and Safety Training – i.e. Manual Handling/First Aid/Fire Training
  • Demonstrated experience in asset management/tracking/inventory
  • Familiarity with systems used internally at UHG such as Secure, Account Provisioning, PeopleSoft, Concur and HR Direct

Other Information:

  • Travel Requirements: This role may involve travel to sites in Letterkenny approximately 4 times per year. All applicants must have a driving license and be happy to commit to this level of travel.
