Leidos is seeking a Junior Technical Writer to support the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J) Software Sustainment and Modernization program.

GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record for achieving full spectrum dominance. The GCCS-J system is a suite of mission applications that provides critical joint warfighting C2 capabilities and is the principal foundation for dominant battlespace awareness, providing an integrated, near real-time picture of the battlespace necessary to conduct joint and multinational operations. GCCS-J provides a robust and seamless C2 capability to the Commander-in-Chief (CINC), Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), National Military Command Center (NMCC), Combatant Commanders (CCDRs), Joint Force Commanders, and Service Component Commanders. GCCS-J offers vital connectivity to the systems the joint warfighter uses to plan, execute, and manage military operations.

We are expecting award in early summer 2023.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with and learns from the Program Manager/Deputy Program Manager and Chief Engineer to accomplish the following:

  • Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.

  • Coordinates the display of graphics and the production of documents.

  • Ensures content is of high quality and conforms to standards.

  • Attends meetings and produces notes within 24 hours.

  • Aids in the development and production of Contract Deliverables.

  • Monitors and Tracks Contract Deliverable Schedule due dates.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent and 3 to 6 years’ experience.

  • US citizenship with an active secret clearance and the ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Good verbal and written skills.

  • Demonstrates strong work ethic, works well within an engineering team, mission oriented, and takes personal pride in work.

  • Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience working on any of the Global Command and Control System Family of Systems to include GCCS-A, GCCS-M or any other Command and Control program for any service component or COCOM.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $39,650.00 - $61,000.00 - $82,350.00
