Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, install, modify, assemble, electronic equipment and systems such as: computer based intrusion alarm systems, closed circuit TV system, radio communication, plant fire systems, audio/visual systems, motor speed controls, photo cell amplifiers, electronic air filters, electronic pyrometers and regulators, electronic water chlorination system, battery chargers, medical equipment, and automatic temperature control units.

Use, and test equipment such as VOM, VTVM, DVM, power meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and signal generators.

Repair, overhaul, adjust, modify, and test various types of mechanical and electrical controller instruments, recorders, flow meters, flow transmitters, fluid controls, solid state components, and boiler and material handling equipment controls, water meters. Use and maintain all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks if properly qualified and authorized by supervision.

Responsible for location and clearance of underground power cables (up to 4160 volts), and fire alarm and signal cables prior to excavation.

Maintain railroad crossing signal equipment for three locations on US Highway 95.


Minimum Requirements

Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access

Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment

Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.

Four (4) years experience, including certifiable technical training, as an apprentice or one (1) year as a journeyman electronics mechanics.

Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties

Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by Amentum’s Master Training Plan

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license. Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.

Read, write and perform mathematical calculations, understand and carry out oral and written instructions, satisfactorily follow rules and procedures. Be available for standby duty.

Data logging, record keeping

Perform skilled to semi-skilled tasks including but not limited to operating and maintaining equipment, tools, vehicle, and material handling equipment

Be able to use test equipment such as VOM, VTVM, DVM, power meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and signal generators.

Must be able to work well with people and as a Team Player.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26.
