Electronic Technician III / IA
Primarily responsible for LATR, ASHTECH and LINK16, with secondary responsibilities in all other AUTEC Range Engineering, In-Air and In-Water systems.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist technicians with equipment/systems repair, provide training, schedules maintenance and supports testing as required.
Primary system responsibility includes AUTEC’S Range Tracking Systems including Ashtech DGPS, Large Area Tracking Range (LATR), Link-16 and EMITTS systems.
Performs analysis of equipment and systems performance, identifies failures, determines and initiates remedial actions.
Performs administrative record keeping and spares inventories for maintenance of assigned systems.
Documents, repairs, troubleshoots, and performs
maintenance as required on assigned equipment and systems.
Perform and document equipment procurement, installation and Operational Acceptance Testing.
Performs equipment modifications.
Works flexible hours as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
AS degree with at least four (4) years of professional experience in a field engineering related field with an emphasis in RF systems preferred.
An Associate of Science degree in another discipline with six (6) years of experience in operation and maintenance of RF systems relevant to AUTEC operations may be substituted.
Military training and direct related experience in lieu of a formal degree will be considered.
Direct experience with maintenance of DGPS and/or RF telemetry systems including: Analog and digital RF transmitter/receiver circuits, antenna and transmission lines, displays, analog and digital encoders, RF system alignments, RF system troubleshooting and fault isolation desired.
Familiarity with UNIX/Linux and Windows OS desired. Valid Driver’s License and passport will be required. Must be able to lift/carry up to 45 pounds of equipment.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to determine cause of failures and make necessary repairs.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be fluent in English.
Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs.
This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.
A valid US passport and driver’s license is required.
Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
