Transportation Analyst

What Will You Do?

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for reviewing and screening all contracts for the freight management office for both internal and external customers. The demand forecasting includes projected demand for current, new and prospective customers. The intent of the role is to focus the growth efforts of the business to maximize right to win. This role will work closely with the DC Analyst, Supply Analyst, Optimization Analyst, Business Development & Organizational leadership to accomplish goals.


Responsibilities

• Produce, prioritize, and distribute the business development prospecting funnel. Run lane selection/deselection on customer business opportunities from the business development team to ensure focused growth.

• Researching, providing recommendations to build out processes, and procedures from concept to implementation to facilitate departments goals.

• Research and conduct analysis to Identify target geographic areas that lack external customer presence, that would be growth multipliers, providing the information to management and development teams.

• Maintain sales funnel analytics and business development metrics to evaluate efficacy of business development operation.

•Perform in-depth analysis in the areas of transportation, distribution, and operations. Using techniques such as, modeling or simulations to provide management with necessary recommendations.

• Partner with capacity and optimization analysts and operational stakeholders to consolidate data inputs to perform predictive transportation capacity analysis.

• Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.

• Maintain reliable attendance. Actively participate in departmental meetings, training and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup.

• Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics or related field

  • 5 years’ experience within the trucking industry specifically in sales or operations

  • Understanding of multiple facets of transportation

  • Ability to learn and perform sales activities

  • Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to complete multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
