PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As the Operator you will mount and un-mount inbound and outbound container loads/empties and advise office of locations and conditions (if damaged) of units. Receive and input top lift computer data.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Load and unload containers to or from chassis, ground or railcar and service drivers that require containers to be taken off or placed onto railcars;
  • Service drivers that pick up or drop off containers from the work order from the personnel;
  • Unload containers from railcars from work order from OASIS/or as per instructions from Management on to the drivers or to be placed in the yard;
  • Maintain work instruction generated by Managers or the gate through a computer system;
  • Will be required to unlock & lock IBC’s (Inner box connectors), which connects the container on the railcar to enable to unload or load;
  • Set Marine and double stack cars to accommodate different size containers;
  • Ensure that the work instructions generated by the Management, OASIS, & gate are adhered to in a safe manner;
  • Perform any other related duties as specified by the Management;
  • Duties may be by working as an operator, ground person, shunt or Laborer as assigned;
  • Use a company vehicle on/off company property, and will use a variety of tools and a hand held computer.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a High School Diploma;
  • Must possess advanced reading and writing skills, including the ability to follow more advanced written instruction and/or training in skills such as driving;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license;
  • Must have precise use of hands and hand-eye coordination.
