Key Capabilities:

Leidos is seeking a senior logistics engineer to provide subject matter expertise to our team supporting the nation’s nuclear weapon modernization programs. This position is responsible for assisting our customer to specify the technical and analytical deliverables that support life cycle management activities. Technical analysis of logistical requirements is necessary to determine the optimum courses of action and formulate a solid framework to support acquisition logistics necessary to optimize the nation’s nuclear weapons programs.

The person who fills this position must have a holistic understanding of integrated product support elements, and their potential interactions, including second- and third-order effects, necessary for comprehensive and effective sustainment planning and execution. Expertise in understanding which elements and which interfaces between them are most relevant to a specific weapon or weapon system is a cornerstone of successful logistic assessment and planning.

Primary Responsibilities

This position has overall responsibility for producing and overseeing non-nuclear engineering and technical analyses related to life cycle planning, management, and program execution, including test and evaluation programs and logistics support elements and their interfaces. Activities include data gathering, analyses, and drafting issue papers, briefings, reports, policies and processes, comment resolution, and training materials to accomplish the following:

  • Developing and maintaining a clear understanding of the program mission and assist the federal program manager to review acquisition logistics policies, processes, and requirements and track compliance.

  • Developing and integrating logistics management approaches.

  • Conducting analyses and studies of logistics management processes.

  • Evaluating and implementing configuration management.

  • Assessing technical and programmatic logistics

  • Developing and implementing logistics management processes.

  • Providing logistics management support to weapons programs

  • Leading and coordinating activities for staff members

  • Reviewing acquisition logistics activities, establishing a framework for life cycle logistics requirements from top-level system requirements to lower-level requirements to help ensure consistency, correctness, and comprehensiveness.

  • Facilitating strategic communication of project governance and project management processes for enterprise-wide projects within NNSA and with external organizations including developing responses to Congress, executive NNSA managers, and stakeholders to garner support.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 12 years of experience that includes:

    • Tailoring standard integrated logistics assessment elements and analysis processes for DoD elements involved with nuclear weapons,

    • Implementing life cycle management plans and sustainment plans.

    • NNSA weapons logistics.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Active DOD TS and/or DOE Q clearance.
