At Novartis, being there when and how it matters most for our patients and customers allows us to live our purpose and help bring maximum impact to health outcomes.<br><br>The Logistics Specialist is a subject matter expert who must fully understand all applicable laws and regulations and must be able to apply those regulations to ensure that all international trade transactions are in compliance. Furthermore, all supply chain management policies and procedures must be followed. The Logistics Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that production, clinical trial, research, new product launch schedules are met, and that Supply Chain goals are satisfied.<br><br>Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<br>• Provide government agencies with all information necessary to ensure timely release of entries; monitor and resolve any regulatory issues relating to release of entries<br>• Interact with Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. (NPC) regulatory department to verify regulatory information necessary for importation and to identify and resolve regulatory issues that impede smooth importation<br>• Manage SAP GTS (Global Trade System), maintain master data in the system and resolve functionality issues<br>• Ensure uninterrupted flow of key products for commercial distribution, clinical trials, research activities and other company activities (such as meetings and congresses)<br>• Ensure all transactions comply with all applicable laws and regulations as well as NPC SOPs, procedures and global trade guidelines<br>• Interact with government agencies as key contact for transaction level issues<br>• Determine need for and obtain necessary licenses, certificates or declarations for inbound and/or outbound shipments<br>• Key contact for customs broker, forwarder, carrier, third party logistics providers, country account manager in Basel and other Basel personnel to ensure timely and compliant movement and clearance of goods and resolution of related issues<br>• Educate initiators of international transactions in various departments regarding NPC trade procedures and policies, government regulations and compliance<br>• Advise initiators of international transactions regarding how products may be lawfully imported or exported under various business scenarios<br>• Lead special projects within the department; develop and implement process improvements wherever possible<br>• Participate on cross functional teams representing ITM (International Trade Management)<br>• Identify and resolve classification and valuation issues with regard to international transactions<br>• Develop procedures to ensure international trade compliance<br>• Support implementation of new processes within ITM, US and Global Supply Chain<br>• Process post transaction corrections with government agencies<br><br>This position will be located at the East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely.
