Job Summary:

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors. Identification as a Technical Inspector adds administrative and quality assurance duties to the standard labor category. Administrative duties include aiding Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and/or Quality Manager to ensure services provided are to standard. This is accomplished through inspection of work in progress, work performed, and records. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses the source of trouble and determines the extent of repairs required
  • Replaces worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts
  • Grinds and adjusts valves
  • Rebuilds carburetors
  • Overhauls transmissions
  • Repairs fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 5+ years tactical or commercial equipment maintenance experience
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Should be knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening
  • Must have a High School Diploma / GED
  • Must have the ability to receive a favorable Tier-1 investigation result and obtain a CAC.

Desired Qualifications:

  • ASE Certification
  • CDL Preferred
  • U.S. Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent

Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly Compensation: $22.67

Physical Demands:

  • Must have the physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching
  • This position involves working both indoors and outdoors. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
