Supply Chain Business Development Lead

The purpose of the Trading & Supply Products business is to maximize sustained value creation in oil products. The Products business encompasses all activities globally from lifting fuel components/products to delivering finished products to Marketing businesses and selling fuel products/components to counterparties, including global proprietary trading of fuels components/products.
The team is split into two areas, the New Business Development lead and the Supply Chain Business Development leads. The New Business Development lead will focus on those projects where the hydrocarbon value is the main driver and is well aligned with the Supply Chain Business Development leads who will focus on those projects where a hardware component (e.g. terminal, pipeline and infrastructure) is the main driver.
Act as Business Opportunity Manager for Supply Chain Projects: manage margin & growth projects, which will include portfolio projects and external (multi-party) negotiations.
Accountable for all supply chain project development phases (Idea, Investigate, Develop, Implement, Close) incl. Investment Proposals as required; provide business support during the post execution phase.
Develop the CAPEX plan for medium to long-term projects.
Act as Business Opportunity Manager for acquisition / divestment projects to strengthen / align asset based strategic plans
Support the development and execution of the strategic plan for Southern Africa and own the forward view with a clear plan of which opportunities to pursue and action plan on how to deliver them.
Lead strategic projects to deliver efficiencies in the Supply Chain in line with the growth agenda.
Work closely with the respective functions on complex ideas/initiatives/contract negotiations (e.g. multi-year, multi-party, multi-country, multi-products).
Support the digital transformation agenda to deliver value throughout the supply chain and respond to evolving customer needs.
Work with optimisation and operations teams to constantly review and propose new ideas to further extract cash out of the existing Supply Chain.
No direct reports, work as part of multi-disciplinary team.
Understanding the value drivers in the end to end (E2E) supply chain and how these can be leveraged to deliver greater business value.
Maintaining an external focus to enable industry and market intelligence to inform business development initiatives and plans.
Effectively engaging at different levels of the organization and with senior external stakeholders to obtain necessary buy in and commitment.

Minimum a Bachelor’s degree (required), Masters degree (preferred) with minimum 4 years commercial experience.
The incumbent should have supply chain knowledge, experience in external negotiations and project management.
Ability to work under time pressure in a fast changing environment and demonstrable negotiation skills.
Strong decision-making ability, creative/ innovative thinking and continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to identify and develop new digital/IT solutions and programs for efficiencies and value creation.
