AECOM Gender Specialist in Juba, South Sudan

AECOM seeks a Gender Specialist for an anticipated USAID program in South Sudan. The Promoting Civic Engagement and Peace project will complement and enhance the rest of the USAID/South Sudan portfolio by promoting stability, local solutions, and citizen participation to mitigate conflict, advance reconciliation efforts, increase access to information, and empower civil society.
Support the gender assessment process.
Support communication strategies towards promoting gender sensitivity across the program;
Seek out partners that are women led and/or support women and human rights activities;
Coordinate the identification of activities and policies that impact gender equity and women’s rights;
Advise management team on potential areas of gender related interventions;
Coordinating with the program staff to support women capacity building efforts;
5 years’ experience implementing gender programming.
Extensive knowledge of and experience implementing in South Sudan.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Fluent in written and spoken Juba Arabic.
Experience in South Sudan
Experience in East Africa region--particularly working on issues around political, ethnic, and religious conflict.
Ability to excel in cross-cultural settings
Fluency in USAID program management systems
