Currently we are looking for DB2 LUW Administrator

As a DB2 LUW Database Administrator you will Provide day to day support and administration of DB2 for LUW database. You will maintain a high level of availability of services and minimizing the risk of exposure to system downtime through continual monitoring of key systems. On this role you also analyze systems proactively to identify problems and trends and propose technical solutions and recommend changes to optimize system performance and usability. Your tasks will also include creating and supporting database environment and maintaining database systems. Main scope of actions: Patching, version upgrades, backup management, cluster management, improving system & automating repetitive jobs, database tuning.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Language: English (mandatory).

  • Knowledge of Unix environment (terminal command line) and SQL language basics is a must.

  • Knowledge of SQL PL (or PLSQL for Oracle) for stored procedures. Restoring procedures

  • Willingness to continually learn in a database environment is the key.

  • Experience in DB2 software installation - databases and clients

  • Experience in creating and configuring instances and databases

  • Experience of database backups and restore

  • Knowledge of new release upgrades

  • Knowledge of storage structures

  • Knowledge of users and security management

  • Knowledge of schema objects management

  • Knowledge of monitoring and tuning performance

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Deeper knowledge of DB2/Oracle/shell scripting/Aix/Linux in a database technology is advantage.

  • Basic knowledge of TSM/Netbackup

  • Italian language
