Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced and proven professional to play a key role as part of our Americas Drinking Water Technology Team. Based out of Kelowna or Vancouver, the Drinking Water Technical Lead will have a strong background in drinking water process technology as well as related project management and delivery experience. Candidates with experience with leading engineering business operations and operational excellence will be desirable. This role presents an excellent opportunity to help build and develop this key market segment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical expertise and knowledge to drinking water projects

  • Interact and build relationships with client technology experts

  • Participate in client interviews and serve as part of the business development team for key project pursuits

  • Serve as technical director on select projects

  • Continuously build and strengthen professional network through personal contacts, professional conferences, and Industry association committee participation such as AWWA.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the firm’s drinking water strategic plan

  • Mentor less experienced staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • 15+ years of drinking water experience

  • P.Eng. designation in BC or eligibility to receive it within 6 months of employment

  • Strong and positive “name recognition” in the Western Canada drinking water market sector

  • Excellent client interaction skills

  • Team player willing and able to work with people in multiple geographic areas

  • Willingness and ability to travel 10 to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.Sc. Civil or Environmental Engineering; Ph. D. preferred

  • 20+ years of drinking water experience

  • Proven experience in the BC drinking water sector
