Job Summary

AECOM is a supplier of comprehensive contractor services to the nuclear power industry. Our expertise encompasses discrete or bundled services of program management, planning, licensing/permitting, QA/QC, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, maintenance, outage management, and decommissioning. Having 60+ continuous years of nuclear experience, we have executed projects spanning new generation and facility expansions, heavy component replacement (in our SGT JV with Areva), modifications for beyond-design-basis regulation and guidelines, operating plant services, and, in emergencies, the restoration of operations. Our client base covers the industry ‒ regulated/unregulated power generators, NSSS suppliers, including SMRs, and developers of uranium enrichment facilities.

AECOM is seeking a Nuclear Training Coordinator to be based in our Kincardine, ON location. An ideal candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the area.

Under the direction of the Series Training Manager, the Training Coordinator will lead the scheduling and organizing of training activities for the Bruce Power FCFR Series execution.

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders regarding employee training requirements

  • Coordinate the training analysis phase and apply the Training Needs Analysis and OPEX

  • Liaise with subject matter experts to organize the relevant information for instructional design

  • Support the Instructional Designer with training content creation during the development phase

  • Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks

  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness

  • Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology

  • Document training plans for individual employees including program scheduling

  • Coordinate logistics for training activities including venues and equipment

  • Track and report on training outcomes and provide feedback to program participants and management

  • Maintain employee training records using project Learning Management System

  • Keep current on training technology and methodology

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 5 years industrial construction experience in a coordination role

  • Knowledge of construction industry best practices for Safety, Quality, Work Planning and Project Controls

  • Good communication, organization and leadership skills are essential

  • Advanced Skills using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Project

  • Experience with database management and programming an asset

Preferred Qualifications

Due to the nature of work conducted by AECOM, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment.

Our background check process includes a full security check and clearance process as well as reference checks. The security clearance process includes a comprehensive list of previous residences, employment, education and other pertinent information. Those with a valid Bruce Power security clearance are strongly preferred.
