_Responsibilities:_ _ _ __ The Respiratory Lead Therapist is under the direction of the Medical director and Cardiopulmonary Supervisor. According to established department policies and procedures, the Lead Therapist must demonstrate the ability to assess, treat, and care for patients who suffer from acute and chronic abnormalities of the respiratory system. The individual will have the knowledge and skills required to provide care to patients as delineated in their scope of services. The Lead Therapist will be responsible for the planning and assignment of daily rounds and be able to provide for clinical and technical support for the staff in the absence of the department supervisor. The Lead Therapist will assist the department supervisor in the investigation and resolution of department specific problems, complaints, and help ensure compliance with department policies and procedures. The Lead Therapist will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety, and related criteria for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.

_Qualifications:_

Minimum Education and Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care (preferred). Minimum Work Experience: Minimum of three years hospital based experience preferred. One year in a lead capacity preferred. License/Registration/Certification: · Certified or registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care preferred. · Current BCLS issued by American Heart Association, required. · ACLS, NRP, and PALS may be required within one year of hire date, see Cardiopulmonary Director for clarification. · Hold a current license to practice respiratory care by the State of Texas Department of Health.
