Marsh & McLennan Risk Consultant - Power in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

. Responsibilities and Job Requirements The responsibilities of this role include all aspects of running and coordinating property loss control and engineering projects. This will involve providing clients with advice and expertise on hazard and operational , engineering, machinery risks, incorporating fire protection, natural hazards and integrity of building and other assets. Sound working knowledge of power industry technologies and power plant construction management. Power industry operations and maintenance experience are required. Experience in power plant operations (or leading contractor / consultant) are essential – plus experience in at least 2 of the following: operations / maintenance / design. Exposure to risk assessed driven decision-making is essential - relevant to field of expertise. Demonstrating our expertise in the power sector and advising clients on best practices with regards to risk management, risk engineering and operations. Marketing of risk engineering practice and wider consulting capabilities to Marsh power clients and prospects. Keeping up to date on industry developments in the power sector. Supporting the Marsh brokerage business across the Asia Region. Timely delivery of client reports. Client servicing and satisfaction, and timely delivery of reports. Working alongside insurance companies and providing guidance, advice and management of Marsh’s insurance partners. Support of overall practice’s performance goals and business objectives. Project management and consulting work to agreed deadlines and budgets. Management of the business relationship with Marsh colleagues in servicing clients in the power sector. Participation on new business opportunities and be able to present effectively in front of clients. Responsible for writing and pricing proposals and communicating the value proposition to clients and prospects. Presentations and attendance at key power industry seminars. Analyze client needs or project outline and suggests suitable approaches or options to consider. Probe beneath surface issues for concerns or issues that may be unclear to the client. Use systems to organize and track information. Produce creative and effective materials that reflect an understanding of client, project and technical issues. Report writing skills and ability to articulate complex risks to clients accurately. The job will require travel and be able to work to tight deadlines. Travel required (domestic and international travel c. around 80 to 90 days / yr). Proficient in English language (speaking, reading and writing). A second Asian language would also be beneficial. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering 5 years + of professional experience in the Property Risk Engineering , Loss Control Business , or Power Generation Industry.
