Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Solution Specialist, Strategy & Analytics, Analytics & Cognitive in Lake Mary, FL and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.
Work You ll Do
Leveraging analytics, robotics, and cognitive technologies to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, creating and managing large-scale organizational intelligence, and generating insights that catalyze growth and efficiencies. Performing assessments of existing information systems, and identifying gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities. Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, work with cross-functional data and products teams and build efficient and scalable data solutions, estimating time and resources needed for the development work. Functioning as integrators between business needs and technology solutions, helping to create technology solutions to meet clients business needs. Build data expertise and own data quality for allocated areas of ownership. Defining systems strategy, developing system requirements, processing design, prototyping, and testing custom technology solutions, and supporting system implementation. Manage the delivery of high impact dashboards and data visualizations. Creating test cases and performing functional, non-functional, system integration, black-box, white-box, and end-to-end testing of software applications. Creating project charters, schedules, and plans, defining project tasks, allocating resources and monitoring project progress. Researching user reported issues, identifying root causes and resolutions, implementing fixes, and liaising between business functions, end users , and technical delivery teams. Creating technical and functional specifications, including screen layouts, navigation flows, logic diagrams, data models, process models, and pseudo code, to be used for application development. Write functional and technical system requirements and use cases, create process flow diagrams and finalizing system requirements. Performing conceptual and technical designs, including the use of object-oriented analysis and design techniques. Tracking application defects using defect tracking tools, coordinating defect resolution efforts, and documenting resolution details. Gaining exposure to multiple industries and service lines within the practice while demonstrating an awareness of the full breadth of services offered by engagement follow-on opportunities. Assessing and diagnosing a problem and analyzing the interactions between key drivers. Developing solutions to client problems through application of personal experience and standard methods and tools. Validating solutions with subject matter experts. Defining clear business objectives and desired outcomes to guide own work and the work of others. Utilizing Microsoft Visio, Advanced Word, and Advanced Excel to prepare technical specifications for Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) mappings that are loaded into target tables. Developing, publishing, and building dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Reports. Implementing ETL transformations by writing UNIX shell scripts, Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts, and Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) scripts. Developing stored procedures, triggers, cursors, tables, views, and SQL joins using Oracle, DB2, Toad, SQL Developer, and IBM data studio. Creating Schema objects utilizing Oracle, DB2, Toad, SQL Developer, IBM data studio, and creating ETL mapping using Informatica. Translating business needs into reporting and analytic requirements by creating interactive dashboards and visualizations using Advanced Tableau. Utilizing Python, Hive, and SQL to write logic that is used in creating data-pipelines in big data platforms. Optimizing and improving data pipeline performance by analyzing explain-plan and re-writing queries, and by using concepts including bucketing and partitioning.
Bachelor s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), CIS, MIS or a related field.
One year of experience in the offered position or a position in a related occupation.
Must have one year of experience with:
Utilizing Microsoft Visio, Advanced Word, and Advanced Excel to prepare technical specifications for ETL mappings that are loaded into target tables;
Developing, publishing, and building dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Reports;
Implementing ETL transformations by writing UNIX shell scripts, Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts, and Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) scripts;
Developing stored procedures, triggers, cursors, tables, views, and SQL joins using Oracle, DB2, Toad, SQL Developer, and IBM data studio;
Creating Schema objects utilizing Oracle, DB2, Toad, SQL Developer, IBM data studio, and creating ETL mapping using Informatica;
Translating business needs into reporting and analytic requirements by creating interactive dashboards and visualizations using Advanced Tableau;
Utilizing Python, Hive, and SQL to write logic that is used in creating data-pipelines in big data platforms;
Optimizing and improving data pipeline performance by analyzing explain-plan and re-writing queries, and by using concepts including bucketing and partitioning.
15% travel required.
