General Summary:

The position is a fully participating and effective team member of a production line within the scope of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) required for Line Attendant. This position supports the Packaging Team and other groups. Locates, pulls, lifts, loads and delivers supplies to the production lines. Safely operates material handling equipment such as hand jack and forklift. Performs any number of visual inspections, monitoring of machines, manual packaging activities, and cleaning duties.

Essential Functions/Responsibility:

  1. Verifies QCC numbers against crystal report and licenses

  2. Visually checks the component part numbers and matches the numbers given on the crystal report.

  3. Takes quick visual check of components, when new components are brought to the line to assure correct for the product being filled

  4. Continuously watches bottles/tubes/canisters moving along conveyor to ensure labels are evenly affixed, dates and codes are accurate and legible, domes and caps are applied.

  5. Walks back and forth between stations to manually “Put On and Take Off” bulk product so it can be manually placed into six packs, trays, boxes, shippers, etc. Bulk Product may also be “Packed Out” and then placed onto the next station for coding, shrink wrapping, labeling, etc.

  6. Supplements automated bottle descrambler by manually loading empty bottles into open spaces on moving conveyor belt.

  7. Keeps hoppers full

  8. Follows 5s (Sort, Set in order Shine, Standardize and Sustain) guidelines

  9. Empties trash and recycling bins

  10. Keeps all areas of the line clean; swept, dusted

  11. Assists and performs in washouts and sanitizations and fill out required paperwork.

  12. Palletizes cases onto a pallet

  13. Completes OSHA required forklift and hand jack checklist

  14. Adheres to the requirements of the SOP’s, GMP’s and JOB’s

  15. Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and adheres to all safety procedures as documented in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s)

  16. Reports safety hazards, quality and production issues to supervision immediately

  17. Participates in all job related safety training and personally complies with all safety policies and procedures.

  18. Will receive general orientation, job specific, and refresher training relative to the hazardous chemicals they may handle in the course of performing their jobs.

  19. Will comply with all NJ laws and company policies /procedures while sampling, unloading, pre-weighing, transferring, and/or handling hazardous chemicals.

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Performs other duties as assigned

  2. Trains other operators as may be required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must be able to communicate, read and write in English

  2. Prior operating experience with a hand jack and/or forklift is preferred. Testing and Recertification will be required to operate motorized equipment.

  3. Demonstrates ability to interact with employees and complete work goals as a team

  4. Demonstrates ability to take and follow directions

  5. Possesses basic math skills

  6. Attention to details

  7. Basic computer skills

  8. Work overtime hours as needed

  9. Maintain good attendance

  10. Maintain good safety record

Educations and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
