Armstrong Flooring, Inc. (AFI), has an opportunity for a Digital Marketing Specialist in Lancaster, PA. The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the best customer experiences are delivered across Armstrong Flooring digital touch points, both internal and external, including websites, email, apps, and other customer-facing digital delivery platforms. This person will play a key role in translating qualitative and quantitative data into useable experiences to ensure all digital experiences meet the needs of our customer segments to achieve marketing and company objectives. Utilizing their skills of programming and design, the User Experience/Front End Developer will proactively identify digital marketing opportunities on AFI web properties to improve conversion and overall experience. This role is a vital catalyst and driver in maintaining all content updates across our Residential and Commercial brands to ensure we are delivering the most helpful, relevant and engaging experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the conceptualization and crafting of meaningful digital customer experiences in support of the organization’s strategic goals to push every aspect of what AFI does to new heights

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create customer personas, journey maps, and deliver best-in-class storytelling experiences

  • Interpret stakeholder needs into cohesive web design, ensure best practices are followed as they relate to User Experience and Information Architecture

  • Specialize in user experience and design, as well as front-end development prototyping and testing for web, mobile and other digital delivery platforms

  • Oversee adherence to website styles guides and the AEM content management system input process to provide a consistent experience across all Armstrong Flooring’s websites and IT applications

  • Manage website optimization activities including collaborating with the Digital Marketing Team to identify improvement opportunities, user-centered design processes, monitoring and modifying as needed

  • Analyze customer web data; recommend changes across the company’s digital properties to improve overall customer experience

  • Perform heuristic website audits to safeguard all sites are functioning properly and content is up-to-date

  • Wireframe new User Interfaces (UIs) based on audits or other ad-hoc web projects/findings

  • Oversee the design effort for new UIs as well as updating current UIs

  • Ensure consistent customer experience’s across all digital touch points

  • Research and stay abreast of best usability and web practices

  • Balance multiple concurrent project assignments with shifting priorities across a shared resource pool in a fast-paced and high volume environment


  • Occasional travel for conferences, vendor meetings or similar activities may be required (<10%)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related discipline such as Digital Marketing, Design or Development and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated successful experience working in the web development and web design space

  • Familiarity with SEO and SEO principles

  • Working knowledge of image authoring tools, Adobe Photoshop

  • Strong working knowledge of digital marketing, information architecture, and web based platforms

  • Experience with usability, web optimization, and web design

  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues, testing phases and the QA process

  • Up-to-date on the latest web and mobile technologies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to work with internal and external customers, information technology departments and vendors

  • Experience with content management systems, specifically AEM, Adobe Experience Manager

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous marketing/advertising agency background experience a plus

  • Experience using web analytic tools including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager also a plus
