Senior Accountant

Cummins Sales and Service is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to become part of the dynamic team at our Langley, BC location. Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for reconciliation and adjustment of various general ledger accounts.

Additional responsibilities are described below:

  • Prepare financial reports and statements

  • Compile, consolidate and conduct basic analysis of accounting and finance information

  • Assist with the production of monthly and annual financial statements and reports

  • Make accounting adjustments through appropriate journal entries

  • Assist with monthly and annual account reconciliations and close activities

  • Examine a variety of financial statements and transactions for completeness, internal accuracy and conformance with accounting standards

  • Prepare tables, charts, and other exhibits for reports

  • May individually perform, or as a team member, participate on more complex projects

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada without sponsorship

  • Ability to work flexible hours based on the changing needs of the business

  • Strong level of accounting work experience preferably in a large and complex environment

  • Ability to display strong level of initiative, critical thinking, and is deadline driven

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and change management skills

  • Ability to solve problems through advanced excel modelling skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Analysis and Reporting (Corporate Accounting)

  • College, University or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required

  • Must have a current CPA Designation or be in the process of obtaining one

Our Pre-Employment Background Screening process consists of a Criminal Background Check as well as Education and Work Experience Verification. Specific Tickets / Licenses are checked as required, and Drivers Abstracts are required for any position where driving is part of the job.

This position will work Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (this is flexible - 8 hours within normal business day 7-6). Overtime is not required but may be needed on occasion. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur are made in accordance with the terms and conditions of employment.
