Aetna COBRA Analyst in Lansing, Michigan

Supports the COBRA and retiree billing programs for assigned accounts. Administers continuation of group health plan coverage according to departmental and governmentally mandated guidelines and time frames. Provides customer service support to qualified beneficiaries, clients and internal departments.
Provide customer service support to COBRA beneficiaries, retirees, clients and internal departments. Maintain current knowledge of COBRA regulations by using available resources. Process COBRA and retiree elections when qualified beneficiaries elect coverage. Reinstate or terminate coverage in claims/prescription processing system. Notify fully insured clients and internal departments. Coordinate and update client records by processing rate changes. This includes coordinating with the COBRA Analyst to obtain client authorization, communicating with COBRA beneficiaries and updating election forms and COBRA contracts. Gain an understanding of interaction between internal departments, outside vendors, and brokers and the impact each plays in the COBRA process. Work closely with Eligibility and learn COBRA eligibility.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including articulation, spelling, grammar, proofreading, and telephone skills. Strong mathematical skills. Experience with Word and Excel. Data entry skills
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
