We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Electrical Specialist at our Battleground plant located in La Porte, Texas.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Supervise construction: review prints, check methods, list material needed and follow design.

  • Assist in maintaining plant specifications for installation of electrical systems consisting of both written documents and drawings.

  • Supervise special maintenance projects, preventive maintenance and follow inspections.

  • Ensure plant electrical switchyard equipment, Substation and transformer and associated equipment are reliable by vigorously executing and following the Electrical Maintenance Guidelines.

  • Resource and Auditor for the following systems: Plant motor inspections and Repair, Cathodic protection, UPS systems, Transformers, Relays, OCB’s, transmission lines, switchgear and airswitches.

  • Co-ordinate and schedule the maintenance, inspection, and installation of electrical equipment.

  • Provide technical training to electrical technicians that includes individual assistance in interpreting drawings and other documents to calibration and testing procedures.


  • Experience in electrical maintenance or B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with electrical distribution equipment.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.

  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of SAP.
