POSITION TITLE:Mgr Case Management

SUPERVISOR:Dir Case Management

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Case Management is responsible for the day-to-day Case Management process in an effective, efficient, accurate, and timely manner through established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. The Manager is responsible for the full range of management duties for the Case Management department. Day-to-day management includes management of Medicare LOS, D/C Planning, Observation service management, Medicare Important Message, One Day Stay management review, Denials management, Re-admissions, Care Coordination and Resource management.

We recognize Case Management is a collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the options and services required to meet an individual's health needs using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective outcomes and the Manager is responsible for facilitating this process.

The Manager of Case Management reports to the Director of Case Management. The Manager of Case Management is responsible for the day to day activities of the Case Management department. The Manager of Case Management will assist the Director in launching all corporate initiatives and change processes. The Manager of Case Management will own, create, lead a core team and implement quality improvement projects based on their assessment of need and value to the hospital.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Registered Nurse with an Associate or Baccalaureate Degree; Certification in Case Management / BSNpreferred.

License: Nevada**R.N.

Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in Case Management. Experience in an acute care health environment is required and experience in Managed Care a plus. This candidate possesses a working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and Utilization Review.

Special Skills: Thorough knowledge of Case Management process defined by established rules and regulations of federal and non-federal programs. Strong knowledge of Interqual. Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a team. Ability to work with minimal supervision and utilize time effectively. Possesses highly developed organizational skills. Possesses skills and knowledge of computer systems. The components and defining characteristics of the position include leadership, consultation, education, and professional development.
