Calibrates equipment. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician , using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors. Administers therapeutic dose of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician. Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited AMA program with a certificate or degree in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Licensure/ Certifications: Must be registered with the ARRT RT(R)(N)orNMTCB or eligible for registry. BCLS required upon hire.
Experience: Two years of experience preferred. PRN positions require one year of experience..
Requirement: On Call Required and must have the ability to initiate the process of ordering the radioactivity for injection and report to LSMC by time of Radio Isotopes.
