Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.
Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.

The Solution Management department is responsible for setting solution strategy and product direction for those products that are owned and managed by the UGBU, as well as assisting the sales force to achieve optimal results through product marketing, thought-leadership and industry strategy development.
As a Director, Solution Management in the Oracle Utilities Global Business Unit, you will be responsible for providing information and insights regarding customers, markets and competitors to support business decisions. You will work as a solution strategist to keep on top of relevant changes in product, service and delivery direction and the ways your solutions meet industry needs. You will translate your insight to business cases, market analysis and GTM content. You will support the solution core teams to evaluate markets, drive key business initiatives, deliver on strategy docs and work plans and measure performance.
Overall Management of Commercialization Process:Responsible for end to end management of bringing new solutions to market from ideation through product launch and on-going solution performance tracking. Drive standard business practices and processes through the solution core teams.
Market Research: Led teams to conduct market research to analyze product trends, determine product perceptions, evaluate market penetration and understand customer needs. Conduct industry analysis on customer, technological, economic and political trends across various geographic markets and solution areas.
Solution Investment Management:Identify market requirements and ROI for new product development. Create business cases and strategies for product capabilities required to meet solution needs. Gather and analyze data and prioritize market trends and direction. Responsible for driving key decisions around future portfolio investment and regional strategies. Help inform investments in new and existing products by evaluating what capabilities we need and whether we should build, buy, or partner.
Go-to-Market Strategy:Help drive overall go-to-market and pricing strategy, planning and execution for solutions consisting of both products and services with support from Product Marketing team.
Solution Performance Management:Analyze sales/marketing performance and pricing trends and compile results reports. Provide analysis to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and business performance aligned to our financial and business objectives across the solutions portfolio
Partner Ecosystem Management:Work with partners on identifying joint product solutions opportunities. Conduct partner and analyst briefings.
Executive Presentations:Make presentations to the management team and sales personnel regarding financial performance, market opportunity and solution direction.
Subject Matter Expertise:Serve as a subject matter expert on solutions internally with sales and marketing and externally at conferences and with analysts.

You have experience or exposure to the utility, energy or clean tech sectors, and are excited about the intersection of energy technology
You have deep understanding of utility customer and asset operations
Familiarity with Oracle Utilities solutions is an advantage
