Oracle Senior Principal Cloud Developer - REMOTE in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

As a senior principal software engineer on our team, you will be involved in the design, development and enablement of the GBU development teams located throughout the world.

You have the ability to inspire other team members to follow your design vision.

You have a strong sense of ownership, and are able to drive development of new projects and features to completion.

You have solid communication skills and can clearly explain complex technical concepts.

You can lead a conversation in a room with designers, engineers, and product managers.

You are comfortable with ambiguity.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • 10 years of Java development experience

  • 5 years of building and operating cloud services

  • Good understanding of Cloud Native Architecture and principles.

  • Hands on experience on Continuous Integration (CI), Test Strategies, Git, Gitlab, Maven, Docker.

  • Proven working experience in Java development

  • Proven working experience with Rest APIs

  • Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Spring framework

  • Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.

  • Profound insight of Java internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc.)

  • Strong debugging skills from client-side to server-side to back-end

  • Experience with test-driven development

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and principles

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing SaaS and PaaS and a good understanding of Cloud principles

  • Experience with REST and Messaging based microservice architectures

  • Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic

  • Sociable, Autonomous and Cooperative
