How will you make an impact?
This is an excellent opportunity in Lenexa, Kansas working for our Microbiology Division where you will work on products that impacts people’s lives. The Manufacturing Project Engineer will plan, design, set up, modify and optimize, and monitor manufacturing processes and support systems within our industrial facility.
What will you do?
Oversee design, implementation and troubleshooting of manufacturing and system support equipment.
Execute capital and expense projects as assigned.
Support production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies.
Support maintenance activities with engineering guidance as required.
Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives through PPI program.
Execute Engineering Design Reviews (EDR) for existing design changes, costing, validation requirements and final implementation.
Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems.
Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline is preferred and at least an Associate’s Degree is required
Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in manufacturing or assembly processes
Working knowledge of manufacturing / mechanical processes and equipment
Experience designing, operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining complex production machinery is desirable.
Frequent standing, walking and sitting and occasional ladder use and roof access. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
Knowledge of computer or PLC based machine control systems is preferred
CAD experience (AutoCAD) is preferred
Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices is preferred
Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly is preferred
Good mechanical / technical skills is preferred
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
Possess excellent leadership & teamwork abilities, and organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
