HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Bariatric Office Coordinator - CMA Required in Lewisville, Texas

Position Summary: Independently manages all front and back office operations in the bariatric clinic. Answer phones, greet all customers and facilitate appropriate communication/action. Provide direction to and keep all customers informed of actions taking place. Coordinate clinic schedule working closely with the providers in the clinic (NP, RD, etc.), Central Scheduling, and the surgeon’s offices to optimize patient flow, the patient experience and efficiency of appointments. Prepare and maintain organized patient records and facilitate patient correspondence. Handle incoming and outgoing referrals and assist with sending correspondence back to referring offices to ensure continuity of care. Prepare charge forms, enter patient charges and assist with patient statistics/outcomes tracking. Assist with clinical care of the patient during appointments including, but not limited to, documenting vital signs, reason for visit, review and input patient’s medical/surgical history into the EMR. Assist with and facilitate patient progress throughout the bariatric pathway to include both the surgical pathway & medical weight management pathway; this includes assisting with seminar attendance, insurance verification of bariatric benefits and requirements, tracking & facilitating patient progress through the pathway, assisting with documentation getting to surgeon’s staff for submission for insurance approval in a timely manner. Provide other clerical functions as needed to ensure the clinic is efficient & organized. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the general office area. Assist medical staff when necessary. Maintains the supplies to a minimum and verifies patient’s chargeable items are properly charged and turned in within 24 hours. Ensures that clinic visit notes are sent to medical records within 24 hours. Assist with growth and development of the bariatric service line as needed.**

Minimum PositionRequirements:

*1. **Experience* a. At least 5 years of general office work and some supervisory experience required. b. Familiar with health insurance verification process c. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook. *2. **Education/Credentials* a. Certified Medical Assistant for a minimum of 2 years. b. Bariatric Office experience preferred
