Improves individual and community health through coordination of community-based health research, programs and partnerships using the Community Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP) model as well as other public health program models. Identifies, educates and engages community members (volunteers) as local leaders in improving community health.
SHS Community Health Promotion a. Oversees and supports the Opioid Prevention and Treatment Comprehensive Health (OPATCH) Planning grant activities. b. Works with the Coast to the Cascades Community Wellness Network (CCCWN) Mental Health Substance Abuse (MHSA) Sub-committee. c. Attends regular meetings of the clinics and community organizations to promote the CCCWN MHSA. d. Responds to information requests from the CCCWN MHSA. Assists in gathering data and information for the evaluator.
The Community Health Promotion staff work closely with local and regional organizations and coalitions to identify and address community health needs. The staff also represents Samaritan Health Services on local, state and national coalitions that supports the mission, vision, and goals of Samaritan Health Services. The staff manages and reports on community benefit activities provided by SHS staff using the CBISA software and is responsible for conducting community health needs assessments and implementing a community benefit plan throughout the region. The Community Health Promotion staff administers and monitors the social accountability grants distributed to local non-profit organization in Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties.

FLAT RATE $28/hr
One (1) of the following required:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years program coordination experience in a Public Health related area.
Master's degree in a Public Health related field.
Experience and/or training in word processing and data management software required.
Experience and/or training in community-based health promotion program design, implementation and evaluation preferred.
Experience and/or training in managing program budgets preferred.
Experience managing grant-funded programs preferred.
Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Ability to operate applications, write software, set up functions, enter data, and manipulate and process information.
Health Promotion Programs - Knowledge of community-based and/or grant-funded health promotion programs. Ability to design, implement and evaluate programs as well as manage program budgets.
