IBM Advisory Software QA Engineer in LITTLETON, Massachusetts
Responsible for developing and maintaining automation frameworks
Develop system level automation for system test team to deploy and run the regression on large scale environme
Transition new features, regression, manual test procedures and system test requirements into automation.
Innovate and figure out ways to lessen test times via automation
Be a key player in redefining regression suite testing using software automation.
Be the technical point-of-contact within the system test team for all things related to test automation.
Build a strong working relationship with software development engineers and be a liaison.
Working with leadership team to estimate, plan and define the course towards our goals.
Lead, mentor and train other engineers to bring them into an automated test process.
Participate in manual hands-on testing as needed.
Able to configure, setup, debug Big Data databases and work with development on delivering features related to them.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
6+ years of experience as a software automation test engineer.
Experience developing and implementing QA automation tools.
Must be proficient with Java, Python, Unix bash script, Perl, and other modern development languages and tools.
Experience testing DB based applications
Strong SQL and DB testing experience
Ability to read, write complex SQL statements in Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Mssql, MYSQL.
Familiar with Windows and UNIX environments
Experience with defect tracking systems, writing clear and reproducible defect reports.
Proficient with Python, Selenium and other scripting languages and tools.
Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience using development and deployment tools (Jenkins, Jira, TestRail)
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Experience developing Robot framework.
Experience creating test plans, identifying test scenarios, and knowledge of component/API/REST/GUI level testing principles a plus.
Experience with Agile methodologies and continuous integration processes preferred.
Experience with communication protocols such as FTP, Telnet, TCP/IP, and UDP is a plus.
