Oracle Consulting Project Technical Manager in Lombard, Illinois

As a recognized authority and leading contributor, this project management professional, provides consistent innovative and high quality solution leadership. Responsible for guiding the successful implementation of non-routine and complex business solutions ensuring high quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer s satisfaction.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle s solution meets the customer s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle s methodologies and policies while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle s risk and exposure. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques for effective project delivery on small to medium engagements. Provides direction and mentoring to project team. Effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Supports business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Manages the scope of medium sized projects including the recovery of remedial projects.

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position. Prior project team leadership or management experience. Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles. Comfortable working in a matrix management environment. Strong communication skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Selling skills preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.

Oracle Consulting is looking for an experienced Project Manager responsible for managing successful migration projects to move SEBL application from client data centers to Oracle Cloud. We need someone who will thrive on the challenge of working in a fast-moving cloud delivery environment, who has a passion for technology, understands SEBL, cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS) and who can help, guide our clients to success. Our Project Managers help our clients throughout US and Canada to change and modernize their strategic HR, ERP management processes and platforms. We achieve this through an experienced and passionate Delivery team, fully dedicated to our Applications Migrations solutions. We need someone who will manage, advice, support and inspire a team of successful Project Consultants in driving value to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Quality of Consulting Delivery and customer satisfaction on Application Migration projects resulting ultimately in customer references

  • Manage assigned projects, be responsible for accurate status reporting, project progress, lessons learned, financials, adherence to methodology/SOP s, meeting customer s objectives etc.

  • Lead project teams in delivering Oracle Cloud migration solutions to the assigned customers

  • Champion re-use on the projects for developed artifacts and providing feedback into the Oracle Consulting delivery organization to enable constant improvement of our delivery

  • As required develop collateral for use in educating clients about Cloud (IaaS/PaaS) opportunities to address their business goals, priorities, and challenges.

  • Review and provide guidance, suggestions and recommendations on Application Migration proposals/bids as the deal solutions are scoped, designed, estimated, and sold to the clients.

  • Help ensure a successful transition between Bid, Client and the delivery teams at the start of the projects.

  • Collaborate/Escalate with Oracle Product, Sales teams to help resolve critical product issues impacting projects and relationships with the customers.

Experience Required:

Communication Skills:Strong communication skills are a key competency for this role. They should be confident communicating in smaller groups and 1:1 with C level executives. Applicants should also feel comfortable facilitating workshops.

Customer Focus:A strong focus on building relationships with customers is crucial for this role. We are looking for a curiosity to really understand the customer and lead them to appropriate solutions.

Project Delivery Mastery:Demonstrated ability to follow project management principles and a track record of having managed successfully Application migration/upgrade projects. Ability to provide leadership and guidance to the project teams and clients through difficulties and challenges encountered during projects delivery.

Solution Mastery:We are looking for a good technical understanding of SEBL. Previous experience with ERP application migrations between different Hardware/Platforms, Data Centers and/or Oracle Application upgrades is desired.

Experience

  • Strong project management skills. Proactively manages and adjusts to the dynamic needs of the internal customer base. Ability to prioritize simultaneous projects/deliverables/deadlines to successful completion (i.e. in a quality and timely manner) while keeping focus on strategic priorities.

  • PMP or Prince2 certification required. Agile, Scrum and Lean a plus

  • Experienced in delivery of complex projects/programs with an understanding of Agile, Waterfall and Adaptive project management.

  • Team-player; excellent collaboration skills in a cross-functional and matrix environment. Proven ability to work with Sales, Product Management/Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Executives.

  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Project, Excel (including advanced reporting, formula, and pivot tables), PowerPoint, Visio and Word.

  • 5 years of experience with Oracle Technology and SEBL Delivery Consulting

  • 10 years of experience as a project/program manager with an emphasis on IT projects.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy, strong commitment to quality.

  • Strategic thinking and problem solving ability (e.g. ability to conceptually frame problems and identify creative solutions)

  • Strong leadership skills and outstanding ability to influence, persuade, and build confidence and trust.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and writing skills - examples of prior work will be requested

  • High level of discretion and organizational awareness. Ability to handle and communicate delicate information.

  • Up to 50% travel required for this position.
