Our people are our greatest asset, and our commitment to your career will see you thrive in a work environment that offers an industry-leading development programme. When your ideas travel, Shell will benefit and innovation will thrive. Shell has a key role to play in helping meet the UK’s growing energy demand, whilst using innovative technologies to develop cleaner energy. We are the largest FTSE 100 company in the UK by market capitalisation, and make a significant contribution to the UK economy. As well as processing 35% of the gas coming into the UK, we serve more than four million customers at our filling stations each week. Shell employs some 6,400 skilled staff as well as many contractors.
For an accomplished IT leader in application management there’s huge scope here to build capability for projects across the globe by skilfully developing both our people and our products.
What’s the role?
Your remit will be to manage Shell’s Retail Site Automation Solutions and Applications Portfolio for Europe & South Africa – people, processes, tools and data. It’s a role you can really make your own: you’ll enjoy end-to-end ownership of the portfolio capability and accountability for all inflight application management projects in your region.
There’s huge scope to make an impact. The main challenge is to build the capability for your portfolio through developing people, sharpening technology and improving products. When it comes to product delivery and improvement, you’ll need to ensure a seamless fit between process, capability, and solutions.
Strong stakeholder management will be crucial. Working in an Agile environment, you’ll interface closely with suppliers and colleagues in IT management, PD , and Mobile Cloud Computing/Architecture to find continuous improvement opportunities that make a difference to the bottom line.
What we need from you
We’re keen to hear from men and women with broad IT management experience, especially when it comes to project delivery and planning/managing IT application development. Positive and committed to achieving deadlines, you have a record of successfully delivering against targets. In particular, you’ve shown you can bring out the best in others, leading and developing large, diverse teams to provide a first-class IT development and deployment service.
Shell is a diverse, fast-moving, global business so if you’re going to drive value, it’s vital you have the skills to deal with ambiguity, adapt to shifting priorities, and work collaboratively with suppliers, decision-makers and peers in a geographically dispersed, cross-cultural environment.
Shell is a company with shared values. Honesty, integrity, and respect aren't simply a strapline: they are a part of everything we do. What's more, Shell is an equal opportunities company, and we place the highest possible value on the diversity of our people and our inclusive approach.
Join us and you’ll belong to a world where you can feel pride in your achievements and propel your career with global opportunities
