Applications Enterprise Architect

  • To act as a trusted advisor to senior clients in the UK and Ireland:

  • To develop compelling, profitable and deliverable customer solutions with Oracle and customers

  • To be commercially astute when engaging and advising a client

  • To bring leadership to client and Oracle interactions

  • To act as ambassadors for Oracle technology solutions throughout a customer engagement

  • Work closely with client, sales, pre-sales and delivery staff to develop a robust architecture

  • Be accountable for specification and design of Oracle technology solutions to meet customer business challenges

  • Take full ownership of “best practice” of their competency area, covering the whole strategic footprint

  • Develop strong relationships with the product lines and in co-operation with the Delivery Management teams, advise on competency requirements

  • Take full accountability for the architectural solution of a pre-sales opportunity or project

  • Establish strong relationships with counterparts in Oracle partners

  • Form and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in product development

  • Manage the re-use and knowledge management of their competency area

  • Provide sales awareness to the sales and delivery community within Oracle Consulting UK and Ireland

Education

  • Degree educated or equivalent

  • Fluent English

Experience/Technical/ Professional knowledge

  • Currently Principal Consultant level or above

  • Chartered engineer or member of recognised IT professional body

  • Ability to hold and sustain C level relationships

  • Extensive experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

  • Extensive knowledge of support tools to manage migration into OCI

  • Experience of systems and tools to deliver IT services from OCI

  • Clear and articulate on the opportunities that Cloud computing and services can bring to a customer

  • A creative and agile problem-solver

  • Recent project life-cycle experience. Operational IAAS and PAAS

  • Commercially astute

  • Ability to form lasting high-level relationships both inside and outside a project assignment

  • Self-starting

  • Politically savvy in complex situations both within the client and Oracle

  • Excellent knowledge of methods, product standards and architectural roadmaps, including TOGAF, ITIL

  • Deep, proven architecture experience of their competence area

  • Strong awareness of building solutions involving other application competence areas

  • Has an existing network of contacts both in and outside Oracle with the proven ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues in sales and delivery situations

  • Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior management within a client

  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful architectures on projects with complex business requirements

  • Track record of success and credibility at all levels

  • Strong customer service client relationship skills

  • Ability to present an argument: persuasive

As an acknowledged authority within Oracle, this senior level consulting position is responsible for creating and implementing innovative solutions with industry-wide impact. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. As a position of technical/professional influence, this individual frequently operates at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies enhancements to Oracle products to meet very complex customer needs. Exercises creativity and independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to deliver functional and technical expertise on a wide range of business and technology solutions. Leads experienced consulting teams on challenging projects; works on significant and unique issues. As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influences difficult decisions at the leadership-level of customer organizations. Enables business development efforts by providing subject matter expertise. Resolves very complex customer escalations. Drives customer process direction and decisions by providing domain leadership within relevant industries on end-to-end enterprise solutions. Creates new solution sets based on assessment of industry needs, market demands and knowledge of competitive product offerings.

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to lead large teams. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
