About the Role Location – London Salary – Competitive + Excellent Benefits Closing Date – Tuesday 10 September, 2019 Principal responsibilities: Place Casualty renewals and assist in generating new business opportunities for APAC Grow the business profitably in our target segments Proactively manage renewal portfolio Independently and proactively undertake marketing/business generation activities with clients. Meets and exceeds financial plans Identify pipelines or segments and execute on these opportunities Assess strategies and implement strategies through clear plans that can be executed effectively Work closely with Head Casualty APAC, team members and brokers to cross-sell and grow new profitable business and leverage Guy Carpenter’s position. Willingly undertakes additional tasks and projects in support of the overall objectives Advocate Guy Carpenter's value proposition and build up our reputation in the Casualty market Accurately reports progress against plan in accordance with Guy Carpenter reporting framework and on an ad hoc basis as required Accountabilities & Major Functions: Maintains a high level of technical expertise and uses this to grow the portfolio Consistently improves business results and client satisfaction Deliver high quality work, with enthusiasm, accountability and urgency Balance long-term goals with short-term, pragmatic business needs Ensure all client servicing activities are in line with underwriting authorities and corporate governance rules Works with cross functional teams in development and execution of business Is a good team player Pro-actively develop and strengthens client relationships with a view to enlarging business opportunities. Maintains regular contact with clients and reinsurers. Maintains a high market profile and good client relationships Ensure the integrity of data in the relevant information, pricing and analysis systems and other systems Manages timely and accurately preparation of documentation Prepares accurate figures for quarterly projections and other portfolio reporting functions Ensures the expense plan for the position is managed in accordance with expectation About You: Min. 2 years of experience in broking of General Liability Undergraduate (or equivalent) qualification to a 2.1 standard or above. Preferred subjects: Business, Economics, Maths, but others will be considered Demonstrate ability on working efficiently and under pressure Understand and anticipate future moves of markets and competitors Demonstrated ability to understand the client's profile and needs (pain points) Knowledge of Primary and Excess Casualty programmes with US exposure would be well considered Ability to prioritize and make best use of available resources Client focused with strong solution oriented mindset Able to communicate and professionally interact with people internally & externally Collaborate internally and externally to develop optimal client solutions Well organised with disciplined time management skills Proven strategic, analytical & problem solving skills Good decision making skills English language are mandatory Business level of Japanese both verbal and written Guy Carpenter Overview: Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, a leading global risk and reinsurance specialist, has over a 90-year history of providing integrated solutions to the (re)insurance industry.
