What’s the role?

As Data Architect – Trading & Commodities, you’ll be leading on the delivery and consultancy for data architecture, identifying and maximising the value of enterprise data and IT solutions that will support business needs and processes, and drive performance.

To succeed, you’ll need to utilise your knowledge of new and emerging technologies within trading and commodities, along with your ability to spot data model and integration improvements that can drive change within the deal management process. On the one hand, you can expect to be managing data architecture development, maintenance and standards, including roadmap, data models, and data utilization. On the other, you’ll be supporting and driving our portfolio strategy for IT applications.

Nurturing working stakeholder relationships will also be an integral part of the job. You’ll use your strong communication skills to build a shared vision, influencing and negotiating with colleagues across the business, from IT and data management and traders, to business analysts and project managers.

What we need from you

We’re keen to hear from men and women with excellent knowledge of what makes a robust and scalable data architecture. Along with your enthusiasm for working within a virtual, global environment, we’d also expect to see as much of the following as possible on your CV:

  • Experience in a multi-disciplined IT environment, with strong expertise in data analysis and modelling.

  • Proven evidence of a ‘can-do’, results-driven approach.

  • An ability to initiate, plan and develop according to plan, with a level of uncertainty and risk.

  • Experience with E-R modelling.

  • Experience with System Architect is also an advantage.
